Governments new 10 point plan could create 250,000 new jobs in the UK

A really interesting article in the Registered Gas Engineer about the governments 10-point plan to help tackle climate change. I’m so glad the gas industry is now seeing the benefits of a zero carbon economy.

‘Prime Minister Boris Johnson has set out the government’s Ten Point Plan for a Green Industrial Revolution that he said would tackle climate change and create up to 250,000 jobs as part of the drive towards the UK’s 2050 net-zero carbon target.

In the plan, the Prime Minister says: “We will turn the UK into the world’s number one centre for green technology and finance, laying the foundations for decades of economic growth by delivering net-zero emissions in a way that creates jobs and allows us to carry on living our lives.”

The government plans include an ambition to fit 600,000 heat pumps a year by 2028. Funding was also announced for investment including offshore wind, carbon capture and storage, nuclear plants and hydrogen.’

I believe that change has to come from the gas industry first as we are the front line that communicates with the costumer on a daily basis. We have the ability to show the customer what the options are and the best solution for their home. We can also explain the advantages and cost savings of different systems. Carbon neutral systems out there.
