How does a heat pump work?

Heat pumps work that same as your kitchen fridge but in reverse taking the (heat) energy in the air around you and compressing it to create heat that you can use to heat your home and water. As 75% of the energy is already in the air it has huge environmental benefits and dramatically reduces your homes carbon footprint.

We also design your heating system to be as carbon neutral as possible by incorporating it into a PV solar panels onto your property roof so that you can get energy from the sun to power your heat pump. We can offset a substantial amount of your total families electrical needs just from panels on the roof. This is dependent of your roofs orientation, tree cover and size of the roof.

Benefits of switching to a heat pump

Heat pumps produce much less CO2 than oil or gas boilers. You can save 1.7 or more tonnes a year of CO2 by just changing to a heat pump. Which is amazing.

They do use electricity to run, but as the UK power companies are changing over to renewable energy sources, electricity is fast becoming a clean option. Last year we had a day when 100% of the UK’s energy came from renewable energy.

We can also link your heat pump to solar panels on your roof which will make the whole system even more eco-friendly and save you money at the same time.

The three most popular air source heat pumps that we sell are suited to all new builds, retrofits and replacement boilers. 

They will heat any normal size home, up to 28oC and hot water to 60-63oC

They are designed to be very quiet and have been accredited with the Quiet Mark

Are incredibly efficient so are eligible for the Government Green Incentive’s such as RHI

Easy to use and can be controlled from your mobile phone

75% of their energy comes from the air so a good renewable heating source and will reduce your CO2 emissions.
